Mars Stations Direct in Gemini 1/12/23, Stays in Gemini Until March 2023

Mars Moves Forward

We have all had the warrior of the zodiac, Mars, living in the area of life ruled by Gemini for a very long time. By the time it departs, it will be about 7 months, when Mars usually goes through a sign in about two months. During this extended stay in Gemini, we are asked to rethink how our views, communication, and the words we use create the world we live in. Mars in gemini is the epitome of the pen is mightier than the sword, if you know what I mean. `

Mars has been retrograde, appearing to be backing up in the sky since October 30, 2022, taking in all the information, looking back on ideas, words, and concepts. It is the warrior in waiting, studying the landscape, learning the terrain. Interestingly, this is the closest Mars physically gets to our location on earth, blazing red and cautiously curious in the sky. Mars stations direct in gemini at 8 degrees 07 seconds, which means it appears to be at a standstill in the sky. Mars makes this U turn so to speak, and from January 12th, 2023 onward, it is moving ahead in the sign of Gemini, finally leaving the sign after 7 months in March of 2023.

Mars retrograde has been a time to consider what we are willing to argue for, how to use our voice for more than pointless battles of wit or to defend our versions of reality. Mars is courage, action, and power. Words can hurt. Words can create powerful pain. Words are the vehicle of our mind. Responsible communication is rewarded here - standing up for what we believe in, being brave in our speech in order to empower ourselves without cutting others down with hateful or demeaning words is the best use of Mars in Gemini.

The shadow side of Mars in Gemini is alienating others with aggressive, hurtful, and cutting words, defending our beliefs or selves blindly without taking the time to see what the other side may be seeing as their truth. We lose energy with pointless battles. Some arguments are not even worth your time, some comments are not worth responding to. Mars retrograde has been a time where we can hold back on our instinct to combat in meaningless word wars.

We only have so much time, so much energy.

Friends Facebook Group.

The leader of our local town facebook group has been struggling for several months with what to do about the vitriol and just plain mean name calling cattiness people get to within microseconds on any post whatsoever. For example, our town got its first fast food restaurant ever - a McDonalds. And there are two camps. Some people are happy to finally have a restaurant in town, and the others are appalled, posting the barf emoji, and just expressing the worst negative words possible about the chain. Inevitably, this would lead to hateful responses in both directions, as both felt they needed to defend their position as ‘right’. The leader of this group was seriously considering closing the group entirely. But just as Mars is stationing direct, they have come to the decision to set some boundaries on the words, make some rules and enforce codes of conduct to make it a safer, friendlier place where name calling and vitriolic words will not be tolerated. This is Mars direct in Gemini.

Where in your life can you accept the larger outlook of other’s views and have the strength and courage to respond without alienating others with sharp responses? Where in your life can your rise above petty arguments that are a waste of your time, and kindly not respond. Where can we direct our mental energies to a scope beyond our own understanding, opinions and truths?

The symbolic degree mars stations direct on is Gemini 9,

A MEDIEVAL ARCHER STANDS WITH THE EASE OF ONE WHOLLY SURE OF THEMSELF, BOW IN HAND

This is the image of a very confident person, ready and willing to defend if needed, but with in the stance of being wholly sure of themself, they know they do not have to fight for things beneath them. This is a very focused energy here, and with the Mars retrograde in gemini, we have had time to gather a lot of information, know how and when to use our words most wisely.

and this is straight from https://sabiansymbols.com/symbols/ and I am going to read it to you because it so perfectly encapsulates the energy of the Mars retrograde period coming to a close.

This Symbol implies the ability of being able to take aim at something and achieving a bull’s eye – straight at the target. You need to be sure of what you want; that your aim is true, arm yourself and go after what you want. Your situation is one that requires skill, focus and knowledge of local conditions. There is no need to just rush forward hoping for the best, as this will only leave you feeling inadequate when you do find something. Compose yourself for a moment and realize that you have the ammunition and the sure marksmanship before taking aim and committing yourself.

Make a strategy. Hit the target. Being armed and ready. Getting to the point. Accuracy and strength. Sending a message true and clear. Skills and confidence. Warriors.

The Word in the Waking World - Kali Yuga

Caliuga?  I woke up with that word repeating in my mind this morning, like a message on an old answering machine.  "Caliuga. Caliuga. Caliuga." I had no idea why this word had called, and could not remember what it even meant. Was it a yoga pose? I put the word into Google, our great collective hive mind, and at first Google asked, "Did you mean Caligula ?" ("Cruel and tyrannical Emperor Caligula ruled Ancient Rome through fear and terror. Rampaging through Rome committing murder, adultery and acts of debauchery, his reign came to an abrupt end when he was brutally assassinated after only four years.") No, Google. I mean Caliuga . The phonetic way I typed in the word, brought up another option (Sorry Caligula, maybe some other time).  Kali Yuga.  Yes, that is what I am hearing. Kali Yuga.  It is so familiar, but I cannot remember. What is it? According to Yogapedia (Yoga's baby with Wikipedia I believe), Kali Yuga is part of Hinduism and is the fourth

Pluto through the Houses

Natal Pluto Placement through the houses: These are inspired by Steven Arroyo’s descriptions in his book, Keys to Transformation, and I have added my own interpretations as well.
